OCC's newest choral program:    All Voices Together "AVT" Ensemble

The OCC is pleased to announce a new ensemble launching this spring: “All Voices Together” (AVT).  The AVT ensemble will be open to all singers from grades 4 to 8 regardless of musical experience or ability including current OCC choristers.  We welcome singers with disabilities to this program. Rehearsals for this singing ensemble will consist of musical games, community building activities, choral repertoire singing, and creative activities such as collaboratively composing a song together as a group. Led by two outstanding music specialists, AVT will meet on Tuesdays from 6:00 – 7:00pm at St. Simon’s Church (ajfkdsjfkj) for six weeks beginning Tuesday May 13, 2014.  All AVT singers are invited to perform in concert with other OCC choirs on the afternoon of Sunday June 22, 2014 at St. John’s Church in downtown Oakville.

Please email katherine.hamilton@oakvillechildrenschoir.org if interested in registering your child for this exciting singing opportunity.

  • New Energy Exchange Program

Singers who have graduated from high school and are in a post-secondary program of some sort are invited to apply to sing with the Chamber or AFGM choir programs in special mentorship roles as part of our new “energy exchange program.”  The energy exchange program allows for graduates to participate in these two choirs through contributions of mentorship, leadership, fundraising, and specific contributions (setting up at concerts) in exchange for free tuition which many post-secondary students cannot afford.

The OCC is very proud of this new program as we feel that these older graduates are very much contributing to the culture of our Chamber and A Few Good Men choir programs and that they, ultimately, make the choirs stronger, help in growing our numbers, and strengthen our overall organization.
